Probably the single easiest, quickest performance mod to date, after installing the Magnecor ignition wires. Removing the throttle body afforded an easy way to get it thoroughly clean. Seemed like no matter how much cleaner I sprayed into the IAC openings, dirt was constantly coming out.

Everything went back together without difficulty, although torquing the tb bolts had one unnerving aspect: one wasn't going to torque beyond the others, so I backed off a bit to avoid the risk of stripping the threads out of the intake manifold, although a fix would be easy. No apparent leaks.

Now, about that whistling that so many have commented on. I orientated the spacer so that the logo faces forward, and while there is a faint dry whistle at part throttle, there is none at idle or under most driving conditions. The whistle starts out high in pitch and drops abruptly the more the throttle is opened. It sounds like a fuel injector on a diesel. It's quite subdued, hardly noticeable, really.

As for performance, I can't say it's a big improvement, though fuel economy under steady driving (i.e., using cruise control) has improved according to the instant economy readout on the overhead console. It seems to be better the warmer the ambient temperature is.

Even if the only improvement is in fuel economy, I will be well-satisfied. Perhaps it makes a greater or more noticeable improvement with the stock exhuast system.
