ADDED 12/3/04
The following rules apply to all forms of communication through ILoveJeeps.com. This includes Private Messages. If a member sends an admin or mod a PM either from the member or forwarded from another member, these rules apply.

As of the date of this addition, users can, and will be, banned for violating rules in Private Messages.

-------------------------------------------------
1. This site is not a place for you to air your personal grievances towards fellow members, if you want to cause trouble please go elsewhere.

2. Personal Attacks. Any post or thread that is seen to be aimed as an attack directed at any other member will not be tolerated. If you have a problem with someone then we would urge you to take it up with them through PM or by e-mail. Any threads of this content will be edited/deleted by Admin and Moderators, and if the problem persists from the same member then we will look at taking further steps. Posts like this have no place on a public forum. We ask that if a member sees a post of this kind, that you report it to a Moderator/Admin.

If you are the victim of a personal attack, we would encourage you to NOT reply to the post/thread that has offended you. Instead please PM whatever Moderator is online, or feel free to send the administrator or moderator a PM telling us what is wrong. They will then take the necessary steps to remove the offending post/thread and will also PM the member who is guilty and issue them a warning about their conduct. Please DO NOT reply to the thread as it will only serve to fan the flames of an argument.

3. No racist remarks, including derogatory slang, be it overt or covert, will be tolerated. This also applies to sexist, ageist, and any other form of 'ist.

4. Be respectful. This is harder for us to define, but will be moderated. With a member total that is growing daily, everyone cannot be kept happy. We encourage you to post an honest opinion, and to remember that others will do the same. If you do not agree with a particular opinion, then please do not try to drag out a post-war, and instead accept that people have different opinions. If everyone had the same view, it would be a very boring forum in a very boring world. Just remember that just because another members opinion differs from yours that does not make them wrong, and you right. We are all for a healthy online debate, but if it turns personal we will have to intervene. If a moderator believes you are being purposefully disrespectful to a fellow member, you will be notified, and further breaches of this rule will be dealt with accordingly.

5. No nude images are to be posted, either directly or a link to such. First and foremost this is a website about Jeeps, and if you are looking for these images you would be better off going elsewhere. The simple rule of thumb is that if it's something you wouldn't see on TV before the 7 o'clock hour, then don't post it.

6. Cross posting. We request that you post in the correct forum only. There are specific forums set out for ease of use, with clear headings. Please do not post the same thread in different forums. Cross-posting is a waste of your time, moderators time and the threads will be deleted. If a thread is posted by mistake in the wrong forum it will be moved by Moderators/Admin, but continuous posting in the wrong forum will be dealt with accordingly.

7. If you are posting a new thread, do not use vulgarity in the title of the thread. Please keep in mind that there are also younger members browsing the forums. Inside a thread, profanity will only be allowed if used in a controlled manner. Again, just try and be respectful of other forum members.

8. Warez requests are not tolerated here. This includes asking for cracks serial numbers etc..

9. Negative remarks about other sites or forums will not be tolerated. This board isn’t here so that you can vent about some other site/forum. ILoveJeeps.com forums/site will not take part in any of the "board wars" that seem to happen from time to time with other sites.

SIGNATURES

1. Custom signatures are enabled, but try to keep in mind that any smilies used in such signatures will impact on the amount of smilies you can use in each post. The limit on smilies in each post will be limited to 6.

2. Signatures should be no more than 4 lines. Remember, the longer your signature the more clogged a page will appear, and the less enjoyable a thread will become.

3. There is currently no system to automatically check for these limits, so Admins and Moderators will be checking manually. Should your sig be found in violation, it will be removed without warning. It is your responsibility to then edit the sig and bring it within compliance. Signatures knocking this site or any other site will also be deleted without notice.

4. No streaming text allowed. ILJ staff members are exempt from these rules since their signatures can include news about the forums and other useful information. If we feel your signature is not adhering to these guidelines we will either send you an email or private message asking that you change or adjust it. If you don’t not comply with our request we will edit it ourselves.

SIGNATURES & LINKS TO OTHER FORUMS:

5. Signatures should be no more than 4 lines in length. Thus far we have not had to go in and make this a mandatory setting, but if signatures continue to be overly long we will do just that.

GUIDELINES FOR POSTING LINKS AND IMAGES:

ILoveJeeps.com encourages the posting of links to your personal website. However there are some types of links we ask you do not post:

1) Adult sites: We understand that nudity is sometimes used in images but this being a site that is geared to all audiences, young and old we must ask that you do not post links to sites containing nudity.

2) Warez: ILoveJeeps.com takes a zero tolerance position towards software piracy.

3) Commercial sites: For liability reasons we must ask that you do not post links to your site if it is of a commercial aspect. This applies to sites that require payment for subscription, services rendered, items for sale etc..

ILoveJeeps.com appreciates your understanding and respecting this request. I am trying to run this site with a very laid back and tolerant attitude and encourage user participation and interaction. I enjoy visiting our members personal sites and encourage you to post links to them. Just don't come in and spam your site and leave, interact with the other members, make some posts and get a feel for the site before posting a "come check out my site" post.

IMAGES:

Currently the allowable image sizes are 70,000 kilobytes

Once the issues with server space and speed are worked out we will up the attached image size.

AVATARS:

Avatar size is 10,000 bytes and 100 x 100 pixels

SMILIES:

The smilie limit is 6 per post

VIOLATIONS/DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS:

Failure to comply with the above items may result in disciplinary actions being taken against you, including a ban on your forum account, e-mail address and IP. These actions will be as follows:

1. A warning will be sent to the offending member via email or Private Message (PM) and the offending post will be modified/deleted.

2. A temporary ban of 1 week may be given. After the 1 week, your posting status will be reinstated.

3. A permanent ban may be required.

Any further violations resulting from the user re-registering as a different username will result in your ISP being contacted.
The forum Administrators and Moderators retain the right to modify, edit, move, or delete any posts made on the forum by virtue of their position and in compliance with the afore mentioned standards. Further, if you are continually not in compliance with the standards of the forum, your account will be dealt with accordingly.

These rules may be changed in the future to reflect the growth of the site. We have a very liberal view on what is allowed and any disiplinary actions will only be used as a last resort. As well each situation will be dealt with on a case by case situation.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and we look forward to seeing you on the board
