I knew after my lift that the stock tires just weren't going to cut it. I started off looking at the BFG AT KOs and was set on getting those for a good middle ground tire for my daily driver.
A friend of mine had recently picked up a set of the new Pirelli Scorpion ATs and I really liked the looks of them. They were a more aggressive tread pattern, but handled great on the rode. When I priced them, they were right in line with the BFGs so I was going back and forth between the two.
Then I got an e-mail that Sears had the Pirelli's on sale for $69 a tire. Of course I thought it was a false lead, but I went over to Sears anyway and had a look for myself.
Sure enough, the Pirelli's were on sale! So I had them mount up a set on "Stocky" and off we went.

They give a great amount of grip and traction in the slick and wet stuff and I never once felt out of control even at speeds up to 80 mph on the highway. Since the majority of my driving is done on the highway I was quite happy with my choice.
The first time I went off-road with the Scorps was in a muddy field near my house. Just wanted to test the tires out and see how they would handle the mud.

I played out in this field for a good hour in the rain and never once felt a loss of traction. I got out several times and noticed that the lugs were staying fairly clean and getting rid of the mud build up. They are not a mud terrain by any means, but they do work fairly well in the mud.
On the trail they performed flawlessly. They had a very "sticky" feel to them. I didn't slip off of any rocks and they gripped like mad while crawling over larger rocks.
I am quite happy with my choice of the Pirelli Scorpion ATs. The perform just as well, if not better than the BFG ATs I had on my old Bronco.
