I was thinking the other day (scary I know). my tires rub a little on the lower control arms when at full lock around corners. Rather than adding stop washers and reducing my turning radius, I thought of a novel idea. Has anyone thought about cutting the sharp lip off the outside edge of the control arm in the area where the tires rub and welding a plate across the channel to "bridge the gap" and provide the stength that was there originally? I assume the flanges are there for added strength and were cheaper to produce than a welded unit but I don't see why I couldn't weld them up. Any thoughts?
