ILoveJeeps.com is funded in part by advertising money from various companies and by donations from fellow Jeepers, but mainly, it is funded out of my pocket.
ILoveJeeps.com has been on a continually rising trend and the site membership is growing fast. A lot of knowledgable folks are here and the information found here is a valuable resource for the entire Jeepin' community. We recently moved the site to a new server to help with the speed and to increase the alloted space we have in hopes of offering more features.
If you are interested in sending a donation through PayPal, please click the button below. There is no limit to how much you can donate, or a minimum that you must donate. If you donate $10 or more and include your username you will get this image below your location field every time you post:
<center><img src="http://www.ilovejeeps.com/forums/art/support.gif" alt="" border="0"></center>
If donating, click the Paypal image below and be sure to include your ILJ user name on the donation page. I will add the Supporting Member image to your profile as fast as I can.

I guess I do deserve it since I had changed his to "President of NAMBLA"
It was meant in a fun kinda sick joke way.
Disclaimer: This member is no way affliated in any way with NAMBLA or any of its organizations.

FUNNY -- I hadn't seen that --- Kinda sick-fun ... My favorite!
So what's it gonna be, 35 cents buys a point/buck? 20cents?? :barney:
<--- Lookie ! It's prolly been there a while, but I browse text only, so it's new to me...
How long will this last Tiffster? (like each minimum lasts 6-months then each additional $2 gets another month??)

So I am thinking about the Bank of ILJ...what would be a fair price to pay for ILJ Bucks????
$.20 per ILJ Buck?
They wouldn't expire...too much work on my end.
What do you guys think?

I don't know if you'd get many takers @ 20¢/buck. At that rate, it would take $200 just to change a title once. I can't imagine you'd get recurring donations after that. Making it more reasonably priced would encourage people to buy more points, therefore more havoc can be wreaked!
...of course, I may just be a cheapskate.

Damn how much is it to change a title??? Maybe I need to look at that?!?!?!?! 8O
satan
08-28-2003, 02:27 PM
It'd only be like $60 to change your own -- but to mess with someone else's it'd be the aforementioned $200...
A dime a ILJ-Buck seems too low though... but quite possible more reasonable to some...
Tiffster
08-28-2003, 02:46 PM
Well I don;t want folks to fork over $60 to change their titel. I would expect that those who are close to the points, maybe $10-$20 away would be the users of this "feature".
And yes, it is a lot more to change someone elses title than it is to change yours.

I just read about your delema with the cost of the site. I am a member of Island4x4.com, located on Vancouver Island. You know, up here in Canada. Our site was having the same problem with the cost, to alieviate this there are 2 different types of memberships. Registered members pay $30.00 a year and supporters pay $24.00 per year. With the memberships collected and the status of members their access to parts of the site are restricted. If you would like more information you could possibly contact the owner of the site, Jo-Jo. check out the site and see how things work.

Hmmm...
Kinda ironic that my tag-line's been "changed" ... I may need to figure out the pay-to-play values for a defensive move (Tiff, when you decide on a $ for points thing will you post it somewhere obvious), and
<--- Why don't you have one of these (I'd imagine that you do some type of suport

So how about a nickle a point?
NASCAR_XJ
09-18-2003, 11:52 AM
A nickle? That'd be like 7¢ to us Canucks. Hmm...not to shabby. I think it'd be an even better idea to lower the costs of purchasing things (new tag line, avatars) that way people would be more willing to buy them, and then they'd be more willing to buy ILJ dollars afterwards. Heck I used to change my avatar every month, but now I can't afford too :(
