Ran Chinaman's and tried the new bypass. The new obstacle is good. It can be hard to impossible depending on which line you try. It reminds me a little of Double Whammy in Moab. They have made a bypass for the new obstacle because of complaints.
This is what the BLM guy had told me on the way down. Very nice guy and enthusiastic about the trails.
Ran about the first half of Carnage Gulch. No difficulties for me. But the real obstacles don't start until the second half. There was a large traffic jam. About 20 vehicles8O. A broken Toyota at the top. I heard he pulled out the winch anchor and pulled his bumper off.
I have to say that this trail is sick. In a good way. I can't wait to run it in it's entirety. It's just boulder after rock after boulder. Very technicle then you get to the big stuff. I would reccomend at least 35" tires. A winch and dual lockers are mandatory. Super low gearing is highly recommended. I would expect some type of "carnage" whether it be body damage or broken parts.
I'll most likely go back up in a couple of weeks to complete this trail before winter sets in. If you are interested in running it w/ me then let me know.
