I have a 77 CJ5 w/33" tires and 1" shackle lift. I would like to add a 4" lift. Does anyone have any suggestions on what brand to use. I was thinking about Rubicon Express, Superlift, or ProComp. I plan to use it as a weekend driver but will load it up on trips (rack, bumpers, winch, etc...).

Does anybody know about the revolver shackles?? Street preformance/offroad performance...worth the money??

As well, anybody have any suggestions on a carburetor upgrade? Right now it currently has the stock motorcraft 2 barrel carburetor w/all the smog equipment because i am in CA. I heard that i should stick with the 2 barrel if i will be doing lots of crawling so it won't load up. I was thinking of going with the Edelbrock 1406 w/manifold.....any opinions?
Thanks!

i have a 77 cj5 also but i have the 1 bbl carter carb.it can be a pain to adjust and rebuild every year or 2 but its very dependable and it just works.of course mine has no smog controls at all(feel for you on that one)so i cant offer any advice there.i also would like to have a 4 inch lift eventually but for now im box stock with 31 inch tires.but she gets around fine as a daily driver and light trails on the weekends.love them cjs, especially the older 5s short and narrow.heck shell go down a motorcycle trail with no problem(no outside rear views either....

A lot of people go with a Weber carb but if you want to keep the smog 2bbl you might want to read this artical:
