New, out of the box and mounted for two weeks with about ten miles of adjustments, these Rubicon Express 3 1/2" coil springs are from the RE 7003 Superflex kit. The actual lift on these springs is about 4 1/2". Rubicon strongly advises that a short shaft kit be put on the vehicle prior to mounting these, therefore I am purchasing 2 1/2" springs to lower the Jeep.

The springs are "painted" with powder coating from the factory but had two very small areas where the coating did not adhere. I have enamel painted these areas with a slightly lighter colored rustproof silver. The rod used in manufacturing the coils is a larger diameter and has more rotations per coil than the stock. In my opinion, they are a far more substantial spring than the stock set. The ride quality is very reasonable though firmer than the stock ride.

I am asking $155.00 for the set plus freight.

So these are for the XJ?

Zeke - the TJ and XJ coils are interchangeable. XJ coils will net a small lift on a TJ, if I remember the math correctly. Tank picked up a set of my old XJ coils for his TJ and said it sat __" taller. Don't recall just how much though.

The RE 7003 Superflex kit is a TJ kit with 3" springs (RE1363 front and RE1365 rear)

King-

These springs are for a TJ model Wrangler. I would imagine that the front springs would work for an XJ but your rear should be leafs. Bottom line, I don't think they are for you.

Thanks for looking,

Did you take them off b/c of vibs?

Yes, I did take them off because of vibes. I bought a 1998 TJ new and had huge acceleration vibrations that they had difficulty in repairing under warranty. This Jeep seems very touchy with driveline changes.

After installing the RE springs, I had over 4 1/2" of lift and a severly changed differential to transfer case angle. The same vibrations were back, even after placing the transmission skid plate spacers.

I just put on 2 1/2" springs and left the spacers on. It has more vibration than before but is manageable.
