Hello all,
Well the Jeep's totaled, and i'm selling off parts left and right. The big ticket item will be my Stereo setup (minus the actual HU... already sold). It's unique in the way that the bass amp and subs take up NO room in the Jeep... they're both out of sight. Also, the setup requires NO DRILLING. Read on if you're interested.
Under the driver's seat is an MTX audio Thunder TA 251D amp. "D" Means small... compact... and prefect to fit under a Jeep's driver's seat. :D This is really something in my opinion.. i havn't seen anything like it... i built a bracket (would come with) to fit perfectly under the driver's seat and house the amp. It requires no drilling... it simply utilizes the existing seat frame bolts. Here's some pics:

Notice how well it does even with the rear husky liners!! Perfect fit! Short of removing the seat, it's completely theft proof (and completely out of sight!!!) I'll tell you right now though, reattaching the seat is time consuming (8 nuts reattach it to the seat frame... they're hard to get to after instalation... you might not be able to get to all of them depending on your tools. I only had two fo the 8 on at the time of my accident, and it posed no problems, but i do not advocate this or wish to be held responsible for it)
From there, the wires run into the rear seat (yes, the rear seat!) and power two subwoofers!! These are built right into the rear bench seat, a custom job by Michael Nevitt at Off Road Toy Store. I'm really upset to let this go... they wanted to scrap it with the Jeep (cause it was "orginal equiptment") but i convinced my insurance that i wasn't letting someone's custom work sit in a junkyard without putting up a fight. They allowed me to replace it with a regulat back seat.
The seat is "spice", but i suppose that can be covered with a cover. The seat is a bit "thicker", and someone sitting on it will feel a few inches higher. However, it's still nicely padded and totally ride-able. It's functional, removable (the speaker wires do "quick disconnect"). Still folds, tumbles... etc.
I'm calculating up what i bought all of this for, and it's soming out to over $800. The HU is a year and two months old, but the amp is considerably newer. I'm going to ask for around $400 or highest bid for the whole package. If this sounds totaly unreasonable, i'm sure i'll hear about it. :)
If you try the amp w/bracket and it doesn't fit your Jeep (i can't guarantee it'll fit... i've only tried it on mine of course) i'll refund your money. I'm quite friendly and not out to screw anyone. I certainly invite anyone to look over the goods before purchase, and i'll gladly help anyone install them.
Let me know if you're interested. Thanks all, more to come when i'm ready to part with it. :(
