The Hummer's 242 is really a special version of the 242HD. 242HDHD? The normal 242HD has ~25% higher power/weight handling than the plain 242. (Not sure where Tcases unlimited version fits in this scale.) The Hummer (AMG) version is a step up and spec'd for 2340 ft.lbs. max torque vs. the HD at 2028 and the plain at 1486. You can find the basic specs at www.newventuregear.com. (http://www.newventuregear.com.) Considering how little they mention about the "249", there's probably more to it and only Hummer guys will know.

The Hummer 242 does not have a 2wd position!

I was wondering about the 242HD myself. I ahve been looking at one out of a Dodge Durango. Is it the same case and will it bolt up in my ZJ?
