Saturday Nov 6th Jeep 101 came to Fort Worth Texas and my wife and I head up hoping to try out the new Jeep Grand Cherokee, as that is what I have now and would be looking to get in a couple of years. Well, the line to try the new grand off-road was too long, so we hopped over to try out the Liberty. Needless to say, we were both happy of how it did. So, since they had an on-road we went to that to see if we could compair the Liberty to the 2005 WK.

Well, nobody wanted to do the on-road stuff so that wasn't a problem. We both took a Liberty thru and were very impressed with how it did and handled and the view out the windows. Then we took a WK thru and the only thing we liked about it was the Hemi engine. Did not care for the view, was more restricted than the Liberty, both of us thought that the Liberty handled far better also.

So...

Wife is suggesting that the next one I get be the Liberty.

More discussion --

Any ideas on how the new CRD engine will be in it? I have read that all the CRD Liberties will have the selec-trac TC and a 6-speed transmission standard. Guess they are to hit the showrooms in December. Will have to test drive one when they come out.

Never thought I would say that I'd prefer a liberty over a grand.

We have an 03 Renegade KJ and love it. Well the wife drives it and I drive an 82 CJ7. But the Rene is very capable off road even with the stock A/Ts on it. When it's time for new tires I'm going up a size and go for a M/T. The 3.7 gets decent mileage, nothing to brag about, but the diesel is supposed to get better. And with the sweet TQ of 290lbsft how could you resist to not get it. And the endless possibilities to upgrade turbo diesel vehicles theres no telling how much power it could make. But I really like our KJ and enjoy driving it. Never would have thought it until I actually drove it. But glad we did and don't have any regrets over getting it.
