View Full Version : Grinding feel when doing a U Turn!

Hi!
Everytime I make a U Turn, I can feel some sort of grinding through the steering wheel mostly but can't hear anything. Also, it only happens when turning left. Could my passenger side bearing be worn-out?
I jacked-up the front passenger side wheel and wiggled and spun it but everything seems to be ok.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

are your tires rubbing on the inside of the springs lower control arms ??????
is this something new since a last mod or did it just start with no changes to the jeep??

No tire clearance problem here.

The only thing that I've done recently is rotated the tires and did a lube job. Oh, and a couple of wheelin' trips.
Thanks.

I would have to agree that something is rubbing....somewhere. The places I've noticed on mine are the lower control arms, upper shock/spring tower (front edge), and sometimes the sway bar. If the contact is light it might not be obvious, but on mine it was easy to tell...all the paint was rubbed off and the metal was nicely polished.:p
If it isn' rubbing, the only way I can think of to figure it out is to have someone slowly drive in sharp circles in a parking lot while you try to track the noise down. It's probably something simple, but tracking those simple things down can be a real PITA.;)
