The move is complete. If you are reading this message then you are on the new home of ILJ.
There were few problems with the move, in fact I was able to complete the actual moving of the database and files in about 2 hours.
If you notice anything not working please let me know so I can look into and get it taken care of.
I will more than likely be doing the software upgrade next weekend.
Thanks for hanging in there!

<<------- WTF happened to that? (and where can I change it, if that's from my end?)

Hmmmm....I thought it was just mine. If you still have that image just reupload the avatar in the Change Avatar area.
I can look and see what the hell happened and will try to upload the avatar images again in about an hour. Gotta eat dinner and get the kids settled.

Apparently (judging from a half-dozen threads) it's everyone with a custom avatar. Except you...but something tells me you already fixed yours?
I'll look for my original and see if that will work, but that costs ILJ bucks that not everyone has, right?
Other than that though, it looks like it's running well.
Thanks,
Jim

Whaa?
My little animated .GIF avatar don't look so good... - we'll give it a while and see how it goes...

OK, I tried reuploading the custom avatars and still no go. I did fix mine yesterday, but I thought it was a fluke so didn't look at any others.
If any of you can't find your original avatar image PM me and I will hunt through the ones I have to find yours and send it to you.

Hmmm -- another "thing" here :
I wasn't seeing "new" posts and PMs when I came into the site (the "new" value indicated '8' and when selected showed only qty=1 thread with qty=2 posts, even though there were newer posts on the site, as seen in the left most column of the main page)...
... I assumed that this was a Cookie issue (I'm using cookies to "stay logged in") -- so I dumped my cookies AND cache.
Now... Well it's different allright...:
Tiff - your avitar looks like the rest of ours (where prior to my cache dump you looked fine and the rest were goofy, after my dump, your's is split as well) -- to me this looks like a file type issue -- looks a bit like the rendering part is forcing interlace...
Also, post dump... the front page is rendering a bit differently... where pre-dump (and for the best part of the past few years) the "logged-in" display would (at the top right of the page) display my avitar, username and "new posts" and "new PMs" ... The 'post-dump' "logged in" look is rendered exactly as the "not logged in" look -- in that the top-right area is displaying the log-in box (blank user ID and passwrod fields) --- not a huge thing, and I did
verify" that I was logged in by leaving directly for the User CP which rendered as expected (found that I did have a PM lurking back there as well)...
Just some observations. - anything I can help with??

A quick - check check thing -- the front page seems to be a cache thing -- even though I reloaded it (used IE's reload, so NOT forced) I still had the login box AND the oldlist of posts (not updared on reload)...
... I again dumpped the cache to force the reload (and another look at Tiff's avatar) - and wound up with crapped-out avitars (as expected - Tiff's included) and the "correct" look for logged-in user (complete with new post list etc...) == Is this set-up forcing persistant caching of more stuff than last itteration??

I see the avatars are still not back up.
I have my avatar on my HD - but I can't find where to go to change it back. Wasn't in the user cp - edit options or something?

The avatar thing is a little annoying, but I am glad it wasn't too much of a problem to move!

Yup, I'm going to go with satan's thoughts on interlacing - I've tried uploading two known good local copies of my avatar and they look all crapped-out once they're here.
I've also noticed a few times that the main page tells me there are a number of new posts yet when I click on the 'New Posts' button the search results tell me there is nothing matching.

I am at a loss right now on it. I am hoping that the upgrade to 3.5 will fix some of these issues.
I plan to do the upgrade next weekend.
Sorry about this glitch guys :(

No appologies needed or even anticipated lady -- I'm all about the freeloading thing (I'm thinking that the last "contribution" thing was a LONG time ago and I've really worn that one out!
All's good by me here...

Hmmm...Another new thing you probably don't want to know about is that if I click the "New Posts" link, the search comes up showing all threads with activity since my last time here. I go through those and normally hit 'Refresh' near the end to see if there are any new posts. That used to clear the thread icon from a colored one to a grey one if I'd read the thread...but that doesn't work any more.

try to force the refresh (Ctrl+refresh for IE) -- that seems to do it... related to cache-management.
-- (it's kinda fun - same holds with editing posts - edit one and it won't show till you force refresh)
Kinda looks like someone's in there playin' right now --- The "supporting member" thingy is back and in good shape... and my avatar (goofy as it was) is all gone now... (as is Tiff's)
Tiff - tell me what I can help with!

Nothing right now Stan. I am just going to let it be until I upgrade to the new version of vB.
Sucks, but I won't really know the problems until I upgrade and once I do that, if I find the problems are still there, I have another server I can move things to...***SIGH***

You know what is odd...I have been on a couple of sites today that moved servers recently (last week or so), all using the older version of vB and they are all experiencing the avatar problem.
Me thinks maybe there is something funky with this version, moving and avatars.
I had oral surgery today so am really not trying to look at problems today, or tomorrow probably. Will do the upgrade either Friday night or Saturday night and see what we can find.
If the problems are still there then I wil be moving the site back to its original home, my bedroom. I will have the server back up and running by thie weekend and if the site needs to move again then I will put it there and be done with it.

Interesting to be sure -- it seems to have impacted stored pics of all sorts (just saw the same thing in thread 16548 )-- like a Mime corruption --
The cache thing is odd too - (not forcing refreshes) - that smells more like a setting... somewhere... (I've seen hosting outfits force caching on outpbound to reduce hit traffic, etc...)

More to the point, it appears to only be attached pics - linked photos are okay.

I thought it was just mine. If you still have that image just reupload the avatar in the Change Avatar area.
