1) When users say the search doesn't work you should check in to it.
2) While checking in to said problem, re-indexing the entire site becomes an option
3) Actually hitting the re-index site button is a very bad thing if you have more than 1 post on your site.
Yeah, trying to re-index the site took down the entire server and all the other sites on it. Bad...very bad. So Mr. Hostmaster thought it best to shut down the offending domain.
I made nice and we are back, but just make note, if you tell me the search doesn't work then I may tell you to go suck eggs for a while ;)
