Gas Cans

I was wondering where I could get some cheap, red metal gas cans. This is the kind that I want:

But they are out of them assuming that I wanted to pay $40 for them.

I saw these, but I would really rather have red.

Does anybody think that I would be able to paint these $10 ones red?

Just use a good degreaser and paint them with rust paint (tremclad - etc. )

BTW if the seals on the opening are gone it will be tough to find replacements, but you should be able to modify something to work.
