Anyone have any suggestions on how to remove the top part of the sway bar link on a 97 zj. I dislocated mine the other day while off roading. Now I have the link with cup end sitting in the back of the ZJ and the Ball part of the link is still attached to the bar. I would like to get these two pieces back together. I don't think they can survive a long distance relationship for very much longer ;). And not to mention I have never been very good at this cup and ball game :D .Sorry about the creative writting. I work in advertising and it has been, shall we say, a very creative day. :silly:
TIA

Not sure exactly what happened to ya, I'm guessing somehow or another the actual swaybar link became disconnected from the swaybar itself. It SHOULD be simple enough to just stick 'em back together and put the nut back on. Might be more difficult than that though because the 96-98's use a ball joint at the top which can be a PAIN.

Actually the link is toast. At the top of the link is a ball and cup type of system. The Ball part floats in the cup which allows it to move a little. Now what happened is this separated and now I have to remove the Ball part from the swaybar. I have taken the nut of and the threaded part will still not come out. I've even used a persuasion instrument(AKA Hammer) and still not able to remove. Does that help? The other day was bit of a weird day but I am ok now ;).
