I have a CJ2a and wondering where I could go to found out the engine and the jeep. I am not sure if its a CJ2a or a willys in the war. The title says it was produced in 1942 but the plate on it says its a CJ2a but they were not produced in 1942. I am also wondering where some good places to search for parts for it.

I know for sure that CJ-2A's were produced from '45 to '49 with an L- head 4 banger. One difference between the MB(military) and the '2A is that the MB didn't have a tailgate. Hard to say why a correct title would state a CJ-2A was produced in '42.

Me again with the willys
It doesnt have a tailgate and the engine is a straight 6 and the windshield is all one. I thought the MB has a piece of metel that makes to windshields in the front. Thanks for the replys.

Both the MB and the '2A have a split windshield. Sounds like you might have a home built hybrid that came from whatever parts were found?!?!
P.S. There had to have been an engine swap too...

The 2A, has a split window, but many of them have been bastardized since the 40's. I have 2 CJ-2A's a 46 and a 47. The 46 has had the tail gate bondoed over, and a spare tire carrier added, along with the stock windsheild frame having a single pane of glass. The 47 is more complete, with the exception of the F-head engine, which required a cutout for the air cleaner, I am going to put the L in to the 47, in a little while.
You can find the true year by looking up the serial #, it is really easy to figure out what year it was built, I'll look at my jeeps as a referance.
Your headlights should be about 6" diameter, and have a chrome bezel around them to be a 2A. A MB will have smaller lights that are recessed behind the grille. There are also some manufacturing differences betwen the war Jeeps that were built by other companies, and between the civillian jeeps that were made post war.
