why do some people list every thing on there jeeps we all know that you have or should have full size spare fire ext, and all the basics
Is it just me or is it getting carried a way with the 10 disk cd changers and the 12 inch subs in the sig.
It is not to bad on this board so thoose of you with long sig dont take offense at this but some I have seen would take 10 minutes to read
Not that we are not all proud of what we have on our jeeps because they are an expression of our selfs I am just curious thats all
Please don't flame me for this I am not trying to stir anything up just asking a question if everyone is interested I can add to mine I just did not want to seem obnotious

I agree I thnk the sigs shoul be kept down to 2 or 3 lines.
Drive train, engine, tranny, year model and MAJOR MODS or just a quote or line or something. I usally dont read the sigs if they are that long. The basic sigs keep people from asking the "well what do you drive I need to know before I answer your question" question. Just my $.02

I agree that it can go to far (I think some of that is new jeep excitement) but I also think you can tell to little. Like with yours, I'm curious as to how much lift, and what brand kit, you used to fit your 35s. I think sigs can be helpful to someone trying to figure out what they want to do with their jeep.
I believe that sigs can also help prevent some newbie questions, like what size tires you can fit with what lift, etc.
My sig may be a little long but I only included what makes mine truely different, or isn't obvious. For example, I didn't include that I have a 4.0 because I put that I have a Sahara. And I don't include it all the time
Not a flame, just some thoughts on the topic.

I don't have a problem with the sigs. I have seen things that others have done and it has given me an opportunity to ask them about it. I've also had people ask about things in my sig (cruise control, for example).
I'm trying to get used to the sig showing up automatically, as opposed to having to check a box for it to show like on JU. It would be nice if it would show up only in the first reply to each topic instead of every time.....
Hey what happened to all the sigs in this thread? :D
I don't even read the sigs now. Some of the sigs are just ridiculous. I think the sig should be for major mods only. Not stuff like- Cruise control, CB, seat covers, ect...

I'd like to list what few mods I've done to my rig, so that if anyone has questions about something they know they can ask me about it. But I agree that it can easily get out of hand, and that insignificant things could be omitted. I don't list my driving lights, fog lights, grill guard, hitch receiver etc.
I don't mind if people have long sigs, but I wish they'd stop including them in every reply. IMHO it's enough to include it in the first post in a thread.
I have to agree about keeping them short and to the point. I never read the long sigs, but I do the shorter ones. It sometimes helps when answering someone's questions to look at his sig to see what he's got -- YJ, TJ, etc.

I agree sigs should be short and sweet. I do feel they need to include your jeeps vitals year, lift, tranny. Just so when you do a question post everyone knows what you're asking about.
Which reminds me I really have to make a sig..

Chris,
I like your new sig. :)
Do you have any pics of that cage you built? I'd be really interested in seeing it.

Another real good idea is that people post links to websites about their rides. There you can list and list and list till you explode and it's your business and nobody can tell you otherwise. I personally haven't done that route yet, I'm lazy. http://cwmonkey.virtualave.net/s/net5/dozey.gif

Mr. Bill
I do not have any pic. yet I have done a lot of work on it over the winter to come out with a big cj in the spring I still need to take pic now that the top is off and the cage is in better view I will try to get some taken
The cage is nothing fancy but it offers protection if I roll it (more than stock roll bar)

Yeah, now that I've got my new lift and tires, I need to focus on a better cage and skidplating. That why I'm so interested in seeing yours.
Hey what happened to all the sigs in this thread? :D
First time quoting my own quote. :D The reason I couldn't see the sigs is because I had it turned off in my preferences.
