I think so. The tiger's name is Tara. She weighs about 450 lbs and this is some kind of demonstration from a movie (I think it's Gladiator).

Ah, the magestic tiger...the most beautiful of all cats! Too bad that isn't a poacher being attacked.
Yeah, that looks more like a pose than anything. Still a cool shot though.

I agree!
Now, grooming Tobie really isn't that hard, is it? Just think... :)

I gotta agree with you on that. At least Tobie can't bite my arm off. Just claw the heck out of me. I used to think it would be cool to have a tiger for a pet. After having Tobie I've changed my mind. And I've come to my senses and realized that tigers were not meant to be pets. That's why I donate to foundations who rescue the abused ones from people who've tried to have a pet tiger. But what I would give to pet a tiger. I was able to pet a cheetah a couple years ago. I had my picture taken with the cheetah too. It was cool.:D

That sounds very cool.
Many years ago, while I was still living with my parents, we had a cat named Gustaf (the Swedish name for the cartoon cat Garfield). He was so much like his namesake - he even loved lasagna :)
Anyway, one night only he and I were in the house. We were watching a programme on TV about the Swedish wildlife photographer Lindblad. He and his wife raised two tigers on a small island in the archipelago off the coast of Stockholm. The tigers were saved from India or somewhere as cubs.
Gustaf was lying on the couch by my side and watched the show with much interest. That's the only time I've seen a cat follow a 2D TV for so long (like an hour). He was usually the nicest, kindest cat you can imagine, but when the show was over, he turned his head, looked straight into my eyes, and sank his teeth deep into my forearm! It was as if was saying: "yeah, they're impressive, but I can bite, too" :) That's the only time he ever bit me or anyone else. Very strange IMO.

That's pretty funny Tommy. Maybe Gustaf realize he was related to the tigers and wanted to let you know that.:D When we had Animal Planet my cat Jack would watch the shows about big cats and look at me like he knew somehow he was related to them.
Have you ever heard of the video's made for cats? They show backyard birds and other little critters hanging out at feeders. We have one called Catnip Video and it drives the cats crazy. One of the cats will watch the entire movie. I haven't ever put it in for Tobie. I'm gonna have to do that. It's a good laugh watching the cats try and go after the birds on TV.:D

I didn't know about the video, but nothing surprises me anymore. I've seen cats watching TV with great interest, especially if it shows some of their natural prey. They seem to be able to interpret the two-dimensional image.
I can still remember the 1975 soccer world championships. Our first cat was sitting about three feet from the TV, completely fascinated by the motion of all those tiny men on the screen. She stared at it for ten minutes or so. Then the game clock appeared on the screen (remember, this was in the old days when they still used analog clocks). The poor cat, who was really concentrating on the game, was so scared by this sudden appearance. She jumped two feet straight up in pure terror, and fled :)
A few weeks ago, my brother and his wife and their newborn son came to see me. My cats, who aren't used to seeing other people than me, were a bit nervous, but there was no real trouble. Until my young nephew started crying, that is. Man, did they run! Some days later I was watching TV, and there was an infant crying in the movie. Both my cats came running into the TV room, ears perked up, looking very tense again. They were like "oh no, is that loud thing back again!" :)

That's pretty funny about your cat watching the soccer game. Or should I say, when the clock scared her.http://www.mysmilies.com/s/otn/laughing/lol2.gif I used to have a cat that loved to watch basketball games. She would chase the basketball all over the TV screen. I don't know what was funnier, her chasing the basketball or my dad flipping out because she was blocking the TV so he couldn't see the game.:D

What's this with cats and ballgames? :)
While we're gossiping about our cats...both my cats drool like dogs! I've never ever seen a cat drool before (oh, except my parent's oldest when he smells shrimps). But those to are just slobbering sometimes, when they're really in the mood to be petted, or to sleep on daddy's big chest...(OK, big stomach!).
Tomorrow I'm going to leave them alone overnight for the first time. I'm finally installing my Kolak system, with the help of a friend in my home town. Since the manifolds get quite warm when driving, I'm going to go down there tomorrow night and do the install on Saturday morning. I'm going to sleep with my fingers crossed tonight. Six months - probably the world record for slowest install :)
