Has anyone swapped out the Ba-10/5 out of their XJ and replaced it with an NV4500 setup. Advance Adapters has the setup for $3100, and I was wondering if this is a god option to go with.

didn't do the actual swap -- but was caled in to open the floor up so that the owner could install the transmission crossmember...
Apparantly, he hadn't figured on the added height of the NV4500 top-loader -- easy enough to cut and weld a cover for the newly resized hump!
BTW if you're shopping Dodges for the NV - make sure the 5th gear shaft nut is staked tight (that was the second time I saw that XJ)

I am getting ready to swap the NV4500 in to my CJ one tip do a one or two inch body lift it just simplifies everything.

I was told tha the actual swap would not require any body or suspension lifting, adn that it would be pretty much a direct-fit application. I will find out in a month or two more, as I have already ordered and paid for the setup. Wish me luck!!

Everyone that I know that has swaped one into a jeep CJ or YJ had to lower the skid plate, add a body lift or modify the floor.

The shifter's top-loader in the 4500 is MUCH taller than the Ba10/5 -- could be that you kit addresses that with a different mount and/or corssmember...
The NV3550 is a MUCH better fit (a little less 1st gear, but better fit).

The NV3550 is pretty much a direct bolt in, except for the 21 to 23 spline change in the t-case. It's the same length as the BA 10/5. No new driveshafts or anything. I think the stock crossmember will even bolt to it. Advance Adpaters claims its a direct bolt in with their bell housing and t-case adapter
specs are:
1st:4.01
2nd:2.33
3rd: 1.39
4th: 1.0
5th: .78

I think I'll contact them and have them change my order to the NV3500. Probably won't cost anymore or less, but will save me a lot of trouble in the long run putting the unit in this November. Thanks!!

I saw one in a new TJ today. Very Sweet! You'll have to pull you t-case apart, but it's probably worth it.
