I am about to make a $500 dollar phone call to order this rack. I think it will work great with my canoe and camping gear. I also think the ability to lift it up for soft top removal is very handy.

My questions are thus:

Does anyone have a compelling reason to talk me out of it?

Does anyone have a compelling reason for reinforcing my decision?

How about cheapest price?

I have a buddy that uses one to carry his ocean kayaks around on. I was looking at one myself. I cant see any reason not to buy one unless you have the tools and skills to make one yourself... hey wait....

My buddy has one. It's pretty awesome. Strong and stable. No rattles. You can climb on the thing and sleep on it, if you want to!

Of course, your COG is going to be above your head, so watch the sidehills and plan on carrying a lot of gas. ;)

It will obviously raise your center of gravity, but not above your head! Those racks couldn't support enough weight to manage that!

As for price, always check with Bob first, that's my motto.
