I knew this day would come...just didn't think it would be so soon.

I have run out of things to do to the XJ. I could use a new bumper, but other than that I have finally aquired everything I had wanted for my XJ. And now...I have nothing to do :(

I need you guys to give me some ideas...some guidance. I am seriously considering buying an Xterra and seeing what havoc I could wreck on that. I would of course keep my XJ...it is perfect now ;)

Here is a run down of what I have done to my Jeep:

- Most recently upgraded to 33x12.50 Goodyear MT/R tires. The MT/Rs have become one of the top tires out there for rockcrawling and are a very street-friendly tire as well. I have the MT/Rs mounted on my Eagle Alloy 589 wheels in a 15x7. These rims have 4" of backspacing and look really clean on Stocky. There was a lot of conversation about sticking with the 15x7 wheel, but so far it is working out great and has saved me from once again having to buy new wheels.

- I installed a set of Rocky Road Outfitters StepRails on Project Blackout. These rails are amazingly strong and sturdy. I have already had a chance to test them out and the can withstand a beating. My kids love them since they can now get in the XJ unassisted.

- Had 4.56 gears installed to help get some of the power back after the addition of the 33s. Also threw a Powertrax No-Slip locker in the rear. I left the front open due to money constaints and the desire to see what a rear locker will do for me.

- I have 4.5" ZJ coils which net me a a little more than 7" with the stock isolator in place. I recently added a 1" spacer to make up for the weight of the bumper to place the front end squarely at 7.5" of lift.

- Installed Rubicon Express' 1462 4.5" leaf springs. The leafs gave me much more than the advertised 4.5" of lift!!! The rear, right after install, was sitting pretty close to 9" with the extended shackles. I swapped those out for some MJ shackles and that brought it back down to about 8". It has since settled to a comfortable 7.5".

- Went with Rusty's Offroad LCAs and adjustable UCAs. Prior to installing these I had Death Wobble so bad I almost couldn't drive Stocky. The LCAs and UCAs have fixed the DW problems and made the front end much tighter

- Installed Rancho 9000 adjustable shocks. I went with the 9010 all around using JKS bar pin eliminators and my own custom made stud eliminators in the front. I have since changed to the Rancho RSX shocks for the front. It's a huge improvement over the 9000s and a great riding shock on and off-road. Once I find the right length for the rear I will probably switch to the RSXs for the rear as well.

- Installed Rubicon Express' Slip Yoke Eliminator kit and a double cardon (CV) drive shaft from Englewood Driveshaft in Denver.

Hmmm....did someone say V8 conversion? Be the first on your block to throw a V10 under the hood???

How 'bout some on-board air and a few welding toys?

Wilderness rack and enough lights to keep Red Rocks well lit?

Sharks with frickin' laser beams attached to their heads...

Cut the back and make it a convertible?

Donate it to a needy cause...it ain't "Stocky" no more, but mine still is ;)

-Winch bumper.
-Interior roll cage.
-snorkle.
-roof rack with lights.
-rock lights underneath.
-supercharger.
-Klune underdrive.
-rear disc brake conversion.
-full belly armor nose to tail.
-custom pop-out rear windows.

Or, when all else fails, try harder to break something :D

Although they are not too exciting, RE control arm drop brackets are a great mod. One of the best I have done in a while.

I like your jeep alot but i would ditch the front bumper you have and go for an ARB Bullbar and a winch. Then you will have plenty of confiedence to go anywhere you want.

Oh one other thing i like you wheels alot how much did you pay for them and who did you get them from.

I really like your XJ Tiffster ! If you have done
everything you want to do to it, how about getting
a SWB or an SJ, whatever you might like, and doing a ground up restoration or build up ?
It might be fun, and give you plenty to do.

See that is what I have been thinking of doing for about a year. Possibly buying a YJ and doing that up into a mild weekend warrior and great daily driver for Tony (so he can get to work when it snows)

Not sure, I have to fix the crap I broke over th weekend now.

The Bullbar idea is one I have thrown around, but I can't even begin to justify the $600 price tag and I don't have a winch.

Why? What could I possibly do in my soccer mom ride that would requirea winch?

Well, on those trips to the store when the shopping cart is full, and gets stuck? Pull out the winch! Or, when it's your day to provide snacks after the soccer game, and the cooler is too heavy, pull out the winch!:p :D

You have kids, use your imagination... ;):D:p

Seriously, I think a trail vehicle buildup would be a good idea. Once I get my SJ built for towing, I'll be hacking up an old XJ and doing a full custom suspension, open top, etc. just for the trail. I want to be the first person on my block to put 38's on an XJ.

If you're tired of it just sell it -- get something that's fun again - like trading a husband in for a male model or something --

Just be sure to re-opit the ilovejeeps domain to wherever you end up --- www.ilovekia.com , or www.iloveyoungboys.com , or ..??

Sell it?!?!?!?! No way man...it is finally as I like it.

I will probably do some minor tweaking to it, and then try to find a good priced 92-95 YJ or a 97 TJ to dink aorund with.

Whatever that purchase may be will end up being more of a daily driver with Stocky getting a rest for a while.

You NEED alot!!!!

1. you should get a GOOD car alarm like a 2 or 3 channel, the kind with a pager so if you XJ gets broken into it will send you a message from up to a mile!!! $350 its one of my "should-a-coulda's" my Audio stuff got stolen last month.

2. you should get a good audio system, a good amp new speakers in the doors, an MP3 player and some subs. $1000

3. It sounds like you dont have a full size spare, this is required for some "group" trails. you shodul get a roof rack for the full size spare. Rack $150

4. lights are always cool...$150 for KC

5. More Flex? +++$

6. A CB is great for trail riding with friends, good for if you get stuck too! $70

7. if you dont get a winch you should at least get a good comealong winch and some good tow ropes. CHEEP under $50

8. Maby its time to buy a hitch, trailer, and some quads!!! or a mountian bike for some serious single track down hill riding and rock crawling!!

SWEET!!!
