Sorry to keep some of you hanging, but I was out hopping from B-B-Q to B-B-Q with my new toy...
When I went to pick up the vehicle, I saw it all prep'd, with the chrome sidesteps, then....smiles went to frowns as I looked inside and saw THE WRONG INTERIOR COLOR!!! :(
You may have seen my previous post on JU, ref. getting the wrong interior color...well, THEY DID IT AGAIN, and said mine was there (dark charcoal), but what they ended up prepping was the one with the light taupe dash.
They appologized, and ran to prep the proper vehicle, which WAS there. So of course I got the wiz-bang prep job. I have to go back on another day to have the sidesteps installed. Gonna try to get them to throw me some tow hooks for all my trouble.
Anyway, I was just plain happy to drive away in the thing, and IT IS AWESOME. I've been driving a '98 TJ for 3 years (moment of silence please), and can't get over what a great ride and solid feel this Liberty has...all you guys waiting for 'em, it's definitely worth the wait!
I drove off the lot and straight to the tire place and had P245 70 R16 Scorp A/Ts put on, for $200 after trade of my stocks.
INTERESTING: The dealership happened to have a Limited KJ in the showroom with the same size tires on it (Wrangler ST) and they added $500 to the price for 'em! (I was thinking of DC's comments ref. oversized tires as I looked at it). By the way, I checked my speedo with a GPS, and it appears to be dead on...go figure...
No wheeling just yet...more pics to come!
