This is the second time I've had to replace the lower pin in my hilift- it doesn't act right on the cam when I RAISE the handle and gets bent. It's nbot clearing the casting. Am I doing something wrong or has this happened to others?? (I called the first time and they sent me a new pin - on the phone he said something about a bad batch of castings but I don't THINK he sent me another part- how's their service should I try again or just replacee the pin... I'd hate to have it sh-- the bed on the trail...

Never had a problem here. Any chance your jack is bent?

I don't believe it's bent. I replaced the pin, I did notice that the last one was in pretty far- this one is evenly exposed on each side. It seems to work fine- we'll see. I keep it in the jeep in a bag and clean-this recent pin problem was from using it at work to move a thousand pound platform- now they aren't laughing at my hobby! Before that I used it tp pull myself out of mud a number of times- till I got the winch. Its one of those tools that MUST work when you need it

I bought a rebuild kit for my hilift not too long ago. The guy as the shop (I thinkit was Flying High 4x4 in Mesa, AZ) said to keep a little can of WD-40 on hand and squirt it down to lub it and flush out any dirt just before you use it. It does seem to help, although I haven't had to use it much lately.
