The grills for the cj's are still under patent from chrysler and are one of the few parts that can't be had after market. So if yours is not rusted out then show it off with pride.

OK, so flame me.... I like the chrome grill covers on CJs...
Just makes that great grill more noticeable !
And... it's original on Laredos
And yea... it dosen't help a bit wheelin'

I think it is what ever floats your boat. I like some chrome & it is easy to clean just use an sos pad & it looks like new. & black steel will not get you home either!

I personally think chrome looks gaudy.
But then I haven't seen it done without moderation. If you do the lights then do the rockers then the tie rods oh and don't forget the driveshaft.....
Theres one running around town like that.
I've had one hanging on the wall of my garage for the last 4 years. Makes a nice decoration, lets everyone know that it's a Jeep garage. ;) I plan on selling it, don't really want it on my CJ.

I like chrome on my Hot Rod but don't care much for it on my Jeep, but I do have some on the motor though ... we have a few Jeeps around town that have just about every chrome trinket you can order out of a catalog ( thank goodness thay are YJs & TJs ) I asked one guy how well his Jeep did off road and his answer was ( what and get it dirty don't you know how hard it is to keep it polished and clean ) = what a Geek ... but to answer your question it is a matter of personal taste. a little chrome don't look bad but to much is to much ... just my 3 cents worth
go for it John. I got one to put on my CJ when it gets finished. One of the reasons Im using it is there is one small bad spot on my grill and this will hide it.
I personally like the look of it.

I think it's a personal preference. I have installed stainless hinges and lots of stainless bolts on my CJ because I had the bolts laying aroung when I reassembled it and to curtail rust as much as possible. When I'm completely finished, I'll take a couple rolls of film and then wheel it hard.

The only chrome on my CJ8 are the valve covers and air cleaner(Edelbrock).
