Hi All!

Just thought I'd evoke some reactions out of ya!!!:D
( Northwoods Jamboree, Atkins trail - rating 5, about 22 jeeps )

90% of jeeps ( including stock and modified did NOT make it through this hole!!! ) I Only know 1 jeep right behind us that made it through... and he was locked all the way around!!

2 modified jeeps BROKE THEIR AXLES!!!! whoah dude.

Somebody said we almost made( mud monster sucked us back in! )... well almost... here it is.

This 1 of the 10% that made it.

And here is some pics of wrangler down the trail after it had to get towed.

Hope you enjoy, BTW, the exhaust was below the waterline on alot of jeeps... sounded like a motor boat rumble rumble gurgle gurlge, 1 jeep stalled that I know of. Ours had no problems just idling despite the onrush of muddy water.

Heheheeeee.....I see you had the tow strap staged for the inevitable. Y'all down South definitely know how to play! :D

Did you make it out of the hole the Libby is falling into, or was that as far as yours made it? I don't envy you trying to hook up in that stuff; I'll just stick with (pun intended) the rocks out here...

Good thing the air intake is on the passenger side. I pity any XJ trying that hole - their intake is on the driver side.

Atta Boy!

Some mud tires and a little more monentum (but not too much!) and you might just have made it.

I thought you guys might like that!:D

We almost made it out of the hole, but we kinda rocked back into it, and then after that it's history, we were futilley spinning our wheels.

The funny thing is that this is with the lift and bigger tires!!! I want to go out and get some lockers for it but I need to do a little research. I wonder if you can have them with the IFS ?

Thanks for everyones response Chris S( as always you reply right away and offer good advice, MutantNinjaJeepinator( I don't mind the link to this post at all! and no I didn't get any mud nor water in the vehicle, nice tight seal ), JeepinLibby, & TJx2!

The center section is still a Dana 30, it just doesn't have axle tubes like the rest of us are used to. However, I don't know what internal changes may have been made to the carrier that would make a standard locker upgrade difficult. I remember when the TJ came out they had some issues with the pinion crush sleeve - check with Randy's Ring (can't find the number!!! ) or with West Coast Differentials (www.differentials.com 800-665-0950) to see if they've done the work or know the answer.

The rear is a Dana 35. Again, no known changes over previous years. Has anyone heard if there will be a Dana44 or Corp 8.25 offering out back on the Libby?

I've heard of one Liberty with an standard ARB air locker in the front. If it will fit then anything should.

Nov 2001 Jp magazine has a whole axle info section, they say the Libby Dana 30 is the same center section as a solid axle, but it is aluminum...
