Some of you were part of the original discussion on the cost of maintaining the ILJ forums while we were on the old server. For those of you who weren't - forums burn bandwidth, and bandwidth costs $$$.

Tiffster has no idea that I am posting this (Yet:)). It is 100% my own initiative.

I have sent Tiffser $10.00 using paypal which she can use as she sees fit to cover the expense of operating ILJ. I urge everyone who enjoys the forums to do the same.

This is not manditory, expected, or rewarded. I just want to make sure that a good place to be on the web stays the way it is.

Man, that's a great idea. I don't have paypal but if there was an address I could send a money order to every month or so I would. I would love to donate to this board!http://cwmonkey.virtualave.net/s/net8/thumb.gif

I'd love to do that, but I guess I need to know Tiffster's last name :( PayPal wouldn't let me send any money without it.

I've used paypal a bit and I think it's great. I was not sure about giving out credit card or account info to a group I couldn't see, but everyone I talked to had good things to say about them.

I have a second credit card with a small limit that I use for any internet, phone-in, or other "uncertain" transactions.

As a side note, paypal is very handy for buying used parts on-line because you can transfer money anywhere, and if the part never arrives the seller has to come up with a shipping reciept or the money will be returned to the buyer.

You were right. I had a problem with this once before, when I entered a last name. I received a message that the name I entered wasn't exactly what was specified in that account (a missing space). Now I left it blank, and it worked.

Good initiative!

Paypal, I've spent nearly $4000 through them..

Last name issue, It used to be if they were not registered as a business with them a last name was required, but they changed the system in tiers. Now you can send money to just about anybody without the last name.

Good Thing? Yes for the most part. I've had problems with them getting the money i have with them back to my bank (12 days). But I just did a transfer 2 weeks ago that only took 2 days so they aparently got things fixed. But I got Burned for $150 one time, and paypal at that time didn't have a insurance system to cover buyers and sellers. 2 months of Yelling and threats, got me nowhere with the seller, So I called the CC company and they did a chargeback. 1 month after that they started the verified seller/buyer program, which covers purchases with an insurance protection.

Sign Up Now & we both will get $5.00 (https://secure.paypal.com/affil/pal=km31%40qwest.net)

Paypal has worked quite well for me; I started using it to send money to Nick for various Jeep parts.

By the way, has anybody seen Kolak here yet?

Nope. There is a user registered by that name, with no posts.

I just sent $10 too!!! Not a big deal for an individual, but if a whole lot of us did it, it would make a difference for Tiffster.
