I am installing my tank tonight and would like to know where others have mounted their's.
pics would be great if you have them.

I have a '98 TJ and installed mine opposite the muffler. Tight fit, but it works. The only problem is drilling the holes. I wish that they would use tabs that allow you to drill. I ended up making a "pattern" and then drilled using that.

I used Rifraf's idea and mounted mine in the engine compartment. Worked out great. Check out his website for installation details:

Pretty slick idea. I'll have to look at it tonight.
Thanks

Thanks for the link to Rifraf's site. I hadn't seen it before and that looks like a great place to mount the tank.

Mine is mounted underneath too, between the frame rails on the drivers's side. One reason I like it there (though I would prefer it elsewhere) is that the air has a chance to cool by the time it gets there. The pressure switch and some other items have plastic inside and mounting them too close to the compressor will cause them to fail prematurely. The air is very hot right out of the compressor so the further away you can mount such switches, the better. With lots of rock crawling, no evidence of anything hitting or coming in contact with the tank.

Well, I opted to go with a temp mounting until I can figure out exactly where and how I want to mount the tank. I will probably go with the "Rifraf Mounting System", but didn't have the parts for a mounting bracket available last night. In the meantime, the tank is held in place on the rear wheel well with about 6 bungee's. I have the compressor/tank, etc all hooked up and am now locked in the front with an ARB in the D-30....yeah me!!!! :D

Thanks everyone for your input.

Looks like I'm a little late to the conversation....

So I agree with what Bob said. Why wouldn't I? :D

For the center bracket, I put to clamps together, but I think Bob used a clamp kit which allowed him to make one long one.
