Something I just wanted to post some information for you, in addtion to your thread:

Optima Thread (http://www.ilovejeeps.net/showthread.php?s=&postid=20318#post20318)

I had an electrical problem not too long ago.

I had either my other secondary (stock) battery short ... or the alternator. I'm still not sure which. Anyway, after both of them died, it also killed my Optima battery. I mean to 0 volts. Nothing ... dead.

I thought the old yellow top (about 5 months old, at the time), had given up the ghost. I was just going to get a new Optima, to replace it.

The Interstate Battery dealer here, asked me if he could keep it, for a few days. He told me that, he needed to recharge it, very slowly (2 amps) for a number of hours, then at a rate of like 6 amps, for another length of time.

Anyway, after doing so, I went back, to check on it. It had been fully recharged. He put it on a load tester. It tested out at ... 1250 CCA !!! I couldn't believe it! In fact, had I not been there, I wouldn't have believed it! (ambient temperature was about 85 degrees fahrenheit.)

Anyway, just thought you may want to know about the dependability built into these batteries. Not to mention, the apparent customer service oriented people, dealing with them.

Oh, while he had my battery ... he gave me another Yellow Top, as a loaner. I thought that was really cool of him to do.

So, while I was there ... I went ahead and purchased my second one.
