other tranny swaps...

anyone know of other manual trannys that can be put behind the 4 cyl?or am i stuck w/ the nv-4500?not that it is a bad tranny,just want to see what other options are out there...thanks for your input

lower gears...stronger tranny,get rid of the ax-5,let's face it,it's not the strongest tranny around.

I believe AA makes an adaptor for the NP 435. 6.69 first gear :D

Go to www.advancedadaptors.com and look around. They have an adaptor for a 4.0, but I didn't see the one for a 4 cyl.

Maybe you'll find another tranny you will like better there.

And remember, you'll likely need a transfer case adaptor too.

There's only the NV4500 for now if you're just looking for a pre-made adapter. Novak is working on one for the SM420 right now, but that's been done by another Jeeper as a home grown DIY project. He used a 2.8L S-10 bell housing.
