Can somebody tell me the weight capacity of a Liberty? I am trying to avoid talking to, or visiting the dealer. I just want to know how much weight it can haul around in the cargo area.

What? Are you gonna do a rural postal delivery route?

Is there a problem if I do?
My father in law is ready to get a new vehicle, and he likes his Cherokee. But he is thinking about a Liberty. And that requires RHD to deliver mail for he is a Rural Route Carrier.
Besides, you have a problem with a RHD Liberty? Won't be many like it around here!! :D

Almost all new Jeeps are modular so they can be built for European market with 90% of the same parts. I don't know what is invloved with switching, but I know it would be possible.

Just the only reason I could come up with for someone wanting a RHD vehicle in the states.

Well, it was the right reason.:D
Not hitting on the Liberty, but I think he could find a better vehicle for his intended use.

Does he have a RHD XJ? I know Chrysler had a Postal Carrier progrma where they sold RHD XJs in the States; I don't know if the same program applies to the KJ or not.

Yes he has a RHD Cherokee. But it is a conversion. The Cherokee has 2 steering wheels, 2 gas pedals and 2 brake pedals. Anyone riding in the front has got to be careful where they put their feet.
So I guess you can say he has a RHD and LHD Cherokee :D
I always thought it would be nice to take a road trip in that thing. You could switch drivers without stopping :D One lets go of the wheel as the other takes hold of theirs :D

The father-in-law wants a new mail vehicle, and my wife wants his Cherokee.
Can you see how this is going to work out? :D
