I remember we did this on JU, quite some time ago, and it was interesting to see all the different types of people that were Jeepers. So I will start off, I am an Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager for General Electric. However during the weekend I become a wrench head :jester: If I am not already knee deep in another home improvement operation. :D

I'm a professional web surfer on company time!
I will second that one.
I am actually an Application Developer, but I am trying to get out of that and into teaching.
How many people do you know that are actively seeking a pay cut?

Well, let's see, hired as a web developer, ended up as system admin / email admin / web designer / application support / helpdesk / dang I need a raise......
I'm a licensed Social Worker (MSW) for the County Department of Veterans Affairs.
I love my job of 27 years.
For those of you curious what a social worker does:
I help find solutions to the problems facing Veterans and Military retirees, their wives, widows, ex-wives, and their children:
Finances, Health, Disabilities, Death, Housing, Education, Vocational Rehabilitation, Homeless, Substance Abuse, Psychiatric, former POWs, Awards and Decorations, Nursing home care, Adaptive homes, and anything else that even remotely has to do with ex-military folks.
We also coordinate a daily patient pick-up and drop-off van service to 4 different VA hospitals with our own wheel-chair lift equipped van and the DAV van pool. That's kind of like running a cab company.
And we occasionally get phone calls from folks that think we are "vet's services" who have a sick dog or cat.
At present I supervise a great office of 5 dedicated social workers.
So, personally I only have to get involved in a crisis management role with difficult situations.
For all of you folks who are considering a career, who like meeting and helping people, and can leave your work at the office, I highly recommend social work.
I also recommend some military experience. I am also a retired Army helicopter pilot.

I'm known as a Leakage Survey Technician in the natural gas utility sector. I'm tasked with walking the lines and checking for leaks. I have been doing this for the past four years, though I've been with the utility for fourteen.
At night I turn into a part-time cashier at HomeDepot, using up an additional 30 hours of my life per week in the pursuit of becoming solvent and debt free by the time I hit 40, which is only 3.5 years down the road.
Oh, and I play with Jeeps. :)

My title is Surveillance Officer, and I work for the adult probation department. I drive around and check up on people (at home, work, etc) who are on probation to make sure they're doing the things they should...and not doing the things they shouldn't.
Sooooo....basically, I'm a babysitter for so-called adults.:p
Actually, the job isn't that bad. I can (so far, anyway) set my own hours and days, it pays fair, and I didn't lose the 10 years I already had into the retirement system when I left the PD....only 16.5 years before I can retire.:( It can be interesting, and at times exciting, but normally it's pretty "routine."
That being said, if I knew 15 years ago what I do now, I think I would have chosen a different profession..........

I am in restaurant managment. I am currently awaiting my letter of acceptence to Johnson & Wales University to pursue my Culinary Arts degree with my girlfriend in Norfolk. One of my plans is to make a recipe book for Jeepers and Off-Roaders to take on the trail. Light, quick, easy and good.

Internetworking Engineer
Fancy way of saying that I install stuff that connects stuff together :)
I used to be a phone guy. Anyone heard of a "butt set" ?
I am in the middle of qualifying for my Cisco CCNP certification. Got my CCNA like 1 year ago. I graduated high school with a 1.97 so this stuff is hard for me brain !
I do some pretty cool stuff and get to go lots of places. I pretty much like what I do, but being on the leading edge of technology has it's problems. I never seem to get comfortable and "know my stuff", cause "the stuff" is changing faster than I can learn it :(
Maybe I will become a Jeep mechanic. That actually sounds fun !
Cheers

I am an electromagnetic compatibility engineer. A fancy term for the people that help other people design computers and stuff so it won't be likely to interfere with radios and such stuff. I've been doing this stuff (and related matters) for 25 years. Currently heavily involved in national and international standards bodies writing standards for EMC.
When not working, I Jeep, I'm an amateur radio operator and a student pilot (check ride is this coming Monday for my PP cert).

Been slinging ink for nearly 25 years. I've printed ads for everything from food to clothes & shoes. Furniture ads, small newspapers, flyers, etc.
Now I'm with a company that prints checks, check letters, business forms, statements, etc. And I'm working DAYS!! With rotating off days to boot! :D
Reckon they'd mind if I printed myself a check for what it'd take to do all the mods I'm thinking of doing? Nahhh, it would just take all the fun out of it! :jester:

And spend it just as quick as we make it. And most of it not on our beloved Jeeps. :(
Don't rush anything. Enjoy it while you can. It'll be over before you know it. And someday, even you will eventually be wishing you could go back to those days.

I am active duty Air Force. I currently reside in Korea, a real diverse country. I will be moving to good ole Arizona in May. I am a HVAC/R Craftsman. That's Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration. I've been at it for 14 years and seriously wonder why. The pay sucks, even as a E-6, or Technical Sgt. I have perused other avenues of education. I am but a few classes away from my PE in Environmental Engineering. I have hopes of turning away from the enlisted crowd and getting my commission, yes, an officer. I specialized in soils, and what better way to know the tera-firma than driving all over it getting a first hand look at it from behind the wheel of my XJ!
P.S. I am a part-time beer connoisseur, a choice profession mind you!

Very interesting folks, we have here. It's great to see so many people, from so many 'walks-of-life' interested in the same hobby.
My wife and I own a trucking company. It can be more of a pain, than anything else, but rewarding too.
I love knowing that I have seen most all of this beautiful country of ours, as well as some of Canada. The people I have met, were just amazing. I can't count the number of them I have met over the years.
Unfortunately, most people never get to experience what absolutely beautiful people and places we have, across this great land of ours. I feel like the luckiest guy in the world. Well, I would feel luckier, if I could win a new Jeep! :)
Seriously, I wouldn't trade it for anything. :)
