this is an unusual question...has anyone ever had a tree branch or other assorted "stuff" on a trail pull a fuel line loose?it has the shield on it still.i know it's not impossible to have happened, but what are the odds?it's one of the old style ones that has hose clamps on each end.the stupid preformed rubber 90 deg. elbow is $21.34 at the local jeep dealership;and of course it's the only place to find a preformed fuel line.i'm positive i would have felt something like that dragging across the bottom of the jeep...

Do you HAVE to use a preformed line? What about buying a length of straight tubing and bending it yourself? I re-ran all my brake and fuel lines that way on my 73 CJ5.

I had it happen on my Bronco. Still haven't repaired it :D

Using steel line sounds like a good idea - if possible. When I redo the bronco, I am going to use as much steel line as possible to keep the rubber hose at a bare minimum.

well,it's an inline connection...so the crappy piece at jeep cost me a freakin' arm and leg.it's a preformed rubber line (all of 4 or 5 inches long tops)that connects the fuel line to the filter. it's all steel lines up to and beyond the filter.it looked like the rubber line that connects to the steel was "pulled"away from the steel part...come to find out it was all dry rotted and was needing to be replaced.it took 25 or 30 minutes to do.no more leaky leaky.
