Pics will follow tomorrow, I just wanted to get the word out that after months of not getting around to it, I finally got BFG AT/KO 30x9.5s put on my XJ. I finished up the Rubican Express 2" Budget Boost just a few weeks ago, and knew I would have to get the tires soon. The old BFG ATs (235/75R15) had at least 60,000 miles on them and were getting very work-hardened, not to mention the reduced traction. Still had 6/32 to 7/32" tread left.
The ultimate insult came Friday night when I couldn't get up my driveway though. The drive is about 40-50 yards long, and was covered in about 1/2" of ice under 2" of wet snow. I made it about halfway up and couldn't go any farther. While holding the brake, I realized the trees were sliding by the window. The kids thought it was cool, but I managed to keep it straight until almost the end, when we started turning and ran off into the ditch.
Don't think about suggesting 4wd to get out, 'cause the front driveshaft was sitting on my basement floor, waiting for me to finish replacing the u-joints. With the incentive of sitting at the bottom of my driveway another night, I finally got the tires done...
