I was planning on replacing the PCV valve on my '98 TJ (4.0)...but the book shows "not required." Any idea if there actually is actually a PCV valve, or is a different system used?

A Closed Crankcase Ventilation system is used. It does the same thing, but doesn't use a vacuum controlled valve.

Ah, okay.....had me confused. I'm used to working on older vehicles. Prior to the Jeep, the newest vehicle I've owned was an '84 - most were early '70's - and all of them had "normal" crankcase ventilation systems.
Thanks.:)
I made the same mistake when I tuned up my wifes 4.0 ZJ. I went to pick up the parts needed and asked about a PCV valve. The auto parts guys said it was not necessary - No PCV valve. Ooops :o
