How easy is it to swap CJ D30 axle under a YJ. I want the locking hubs and do not want to pay $$$$$ for the warn kit. I dont mind rebuilding the axle and I like the ability to repack my bearings. I know the springs a narrowere but what about the steering and such? And the front drive shaft? Thanks in advance :D
If you use a wide track axle, 82-86 CJ7, the axle width will be close to the same.
BUT>>>
The differential is on the passenger side on CJ D30s, while the YJ is on the drivers side. You'll have to swap in a CJ style transfer case, maybe a D300.
Seems impractical for the limited benefit. If you're going this far, may as well do a 44 :)

I was affraid of that. Thanks. Now does the D44 come with the same drop as my D30 or will I still have to get a D300. Not that I would mind having one. Just want to know. THanks
