View Full Version : Front Bumper Length

I managed to get some 2x4 steel this week and have decided to make my own bumpers. I am going 57 inches in the rear. However i cant make up my mind in the front. I just wondered what length other Jeepers were running and if you have pics to post them for me. Thanks in advance.

Best length to use is this. Turn tire to full lock either side lay straight edge on outside of tire and where ever it hits on the bumper now is length should be. That way you never have to worry about bumper hanging in turns and get maximum clearance when making turns

Having done this myself, (front and rear out of 2x4x3/16" tubing), I made the front bumper 48" wide, the rear 56".
