How Much Oil?

I got the KJ's oil changed today (5W30SYN) and the guy put in 5 1/2 Qrts???? is this right???? why a half quart???

How much is in the 3.7L

What does the manual say? Did they drain the oil through the bottom of the pan as it is designed, or did they suck it out through the top as I have seen some places advertise? I imagine you can get some leftover if you do it that way...

Manual says "5 quarts"; perhaps the extra was in the filter.

Doesn't the manual list both? My 96 XJ shows both with and without filter.

I'd recommend checking the level yourself at this point to make sure they didn't overfill it.

How many miles are on your motor? If less than 10K, why did you switch to synthetic? Your motor has not had the proper time to break in yet.
