My wallet is a little lighter now, but it was worth it. I traded in my YJ on a TJ today. What a difference! Got a '98 with 40,000 on it. Was owned by a girl here in town who traded it back in a brand new one. Got the Sport with a 5-speed, full doors, and 2 tops. It is like a gun metal gray color with black tops. I can't believe the difference in ride, power and comfort. As nice a ride as my wife's 2000 Durango, and twice the off road capability for about 16 grand less. Of course her big V8 will eat me up any day, but I didn't get a Jeep to race.
I put a hundred or so miles on it today and am very happy so far. I have to go back and get my BFG ATs from the YJ mounted on Monday, the service dept. was closed this afternoon when we got there.
I was looking at one last night at one of the local Chevy dealers and they wanted 22 grand for a used 2000 Sport. Yeah right! I guess they didn't know we have 7 kids, mortgage, etc. I found this one at the local Jeep dealer. I was looking at an auto, but after shifting this thing, I was in love. What a difference from the old YJ.
I would be out testing it out some more, but one of my daughters decided to go into labor tonight with what is supposed to be our second grand daughter, so I am sitting here by the phone waiting to hear the good news.
Thanks for all of your inputs last night. I appreciated them.
Man, now I'm going to have to change my name and start all over again, I was getting so close too. Oh well.

Congratulations. Your new 98 has the same amount of miles as my 99.

Now you have to update your sig and website.

I hope everything goes well with your daughter this evening.

Congrats!!!

...Both on the TJ and grandchild!!!!

Ah, gunmetal grey -- definitely the color of choice!! (Not that I'm biased or anything... ;))

The new suspension is wonderful. Rides well, is easy to work on and has a ton of articulation for an OEM setup.

Prost!!!!!

Hey, another mature gentleman.
We traded a 94YJ for a 99TJ a couple of years ago.
I call it my "old man's Jeep".
Keep on Jeeping!!
