I found a list of TSBs on alldata.com, and several of the problems are ones that I have been chasing on and off on my 2 Jeeps.

Does anyone know a free place to read the text of the TSBs and what their effect is on warranty repairs? In other words, a sending unit that fails out of warranty but had a TSB on it.

There is a TSB on YJ cats, mine went out at 50,000 miles.

There is a TSB on YJ sending units, mine has never showed below 1/4 full.

There is a TSB on engine knocking when cold, and both my 4.0 HO engines have done this forever.

Both cars are out of warranty, but I'd rather have the factory fix their mistakes and concentrate on upgrades rather than repairs.

Thanks,

Olivier

What organization is that?

I did not find a website with that title.

that site is actually http://www.nhtsa.gov/ - National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (a chunk of the USDOT)...

BUT you must realize that TSB are Technical Service Bulletins NOT recalls -- EG a TSB may recommend a different way to route the ignition wires to correct a driveability issue -- if that issue was presented to the dealer in warranty, then that may be the procedure that the technicians followed to correct your problem -- but if you whell back in with the vehicle out of the warranty period, it'll be just like any other repair, and the technicians may follow the TSB to correct your isse and charge you for it...

TSBs are not free work - they're just a way to get good and updated information to the technicians... nothing more.
