I had mine on for an afternoon, IMO, the poweraid is a POS! I sent it back and got my money back. I didn't like it because it generates an annoying high pitched whistle at ~2200 to 3200 rpm. I probably would have thought this was cool back in high school, not.

lookin to get a lil more performance by upgrading the intake, headers, exhaust, cpu, thermostat and other small little components.....

let me know what works and who to get it from...

I have the Helix (PowerAid) TBS, and it's made a *huge* difference !!! Much more power, and, to date, I've increased my MPG by about 3.0 ~ 3.5 !!! Pretty impressive for a $70.00 investment.. Yes, it does whistle a little, but hey, Jeeps are loud as hell..

I like mine, a little more power and mpg. No hard numbers, but noticable.

seems like it gives a little more low end grunt. no noticible mpg increase. no whistle either. mine's pretty quiet. worth the price? i'd say no. but if you're fascinated by shiny red objects like i am, it's a fun mod! :)

I have the PowerAid, $62 from Central 4wd. It gave me back the power I lost when I put on my 33's It does have a rather loud whistle, but you get used to that. I read someplace that if you turn it over the whistle will stop, I have not tried that yet.

I don't know where you can get that kind of gain for $62.

Go for it.

I installed one on my XJ, a whopping 30 minute job. It whistled and needless to say, I thought POS myself. That was until I turned it upside down. I don't know why, but the whistling noise has almost disappeared altogether. I have had marginal improvements in gas mileage, and could actually notice the difference. As for the bored TBI, I would seriously consider the pros & cons prior to doing it. The pros are fairly straight forward: more power, torque, mpg, ect. The cons:
Cost, not only will you have to wait for the core exchange (minus your Jeep during that time) after you install it, you may notice periods of hesitation. You map sensor will be off so you should upgrade that too, your fuel delivery system, i.e., injectors, may have to be replaced with larger ones, your O2 sensor should be replaced. Whew! See my point. I have a friend who did all that I mentioned for a measly 8 rear horsepower on his 98 TJ. Speaking from his experience, I would consider your choices both financially and practicality. ROKSURF

FWIW, I have a Poweraid helical TSB as well. To date, no whistle noise can be heard over my engine and exhaust noise. However, I have the stock air-box (w/ K&N) so I have not noticed a huge improvement. That may be why mine doesn't whistle too.

I have a TurboCity air tube and mine doesn't whistle. I installed the air tube and the TBS at the same time, so I don't know what was responsible for the difference, but I definately have a little more low end and alot better WOT response.
