How do you guys like these on and offroad??
How many miles are these good for??

Never used that particular model, but I personally think Goodyears are Garbage. I have had 3 different goodyears. AT, RT/S, and AT/S all of which wore very badly and got very poor millage. Now I am BFG all the way. Comp TA's for summer, amazing tires H rated and AT's in the winter. I would not recomend any good year brand. that's my opinion and i think many others will feel the same. I *completely* disagree. The Wranger MT/R's are a very good tire, on and off road. Many ARCA rigs are running them, which I think says a lot. I've had 35" MTRs only about a month so far, but I really like them a lot. They are a lot stronger than my 33" Pro Crap MT's were and have handled wonderful on the trail and the road. You will also find that anyone running the MT/Rs will tell you they love them, I haven't met a single person who doesn't.

As far as the other wrangler tires that come stock on various vehicles, I agree, not worth much at all. But, keep in mind these are Goodyear's less expensive lines of tires. The MT/R's are definitely high-end. I highly reccomend them.

For whats it worth.......

I personally do not like Goodyears. They have always been crap to me, and of course, both my jeeps came with them. I got BFG's for the one, but the BFG's were backordered:mad: for so long I broke down and got the MTR's.

The MTR's have so far been good tires. I will hesitate to call them great, because they are a little wimpy in the mud. And thats most of what I have to play in down here.
They are good though, they seem to stick on road and trail without fail.

But when I replace my tires, I will wait for the BFG's. I am happier with them in the mud.

For the driving I do, I would want no other tire on my TJ. MTR's are a great all-around tire that are well mannered on-road and will surprise you off-road.

I think I would probably get a few more miles out of BFG's but I'd still go with the MTR's and I've had experience now with both.

I put 20,000 miles on a set of 33" MT/R's, 3/16" of tread was used in that time. I was happy with them both on and offroad...

I was also disappointed in the RT/S. I ran BFG's and had no complaints. I am now running the Goodyear MT/R and have been very pleased with the performance and the mileage (wear). From my experience (no mud yet with the MT/R's) it would pretty much be a toss up.

I've got 35x12.5 MT/R's and havew been pleased with them.

The compound is made up with silica added which makes the sidewall stronger.

The ride on the highway has been great and the mileage is good. I drive a lot in my Yeep nand that was important.

They have been good in the rocks and loose stuff.

Are a little wimpy in the mud but every tire is a compromise.

I've had my MT/Rs for almost a year now. They wear very well. They also perform very well. No complaints here.

I've had the MT/R's and have been rather pleased with them. Suprisingly quiet on road, and perform very well off road. A couple of weekends ago I was wheelin with a buddy who was running a brand new set of the BFG muds, and he was sliding around much more than I was. I was at around 15psi where he was probably at 20-25 tho. That probably had something to do with it.

It's a good tire. I love mine. They don't do particularly well in deep mud. They just get clogged up and don't clean. But anything short of a swamper does this, so it's not uncommon. All in all, I love them. And next time I get tires, they will probably be MTRs.

I have had experience with both also, (my 91 has BFG's and my 94 has MT/R's) and I like the BFG's better.

But the MT/R's are a good choice either way.
