Just wanted to say hello. Got my first Jeep 4 days ago and my wife and I love it. 2000 Sahara w/5 speed. I traded my 99 Silverado Z71 for the Jeep so it is a little different for us, but great. I'm in need of advice on what kind of bikini top to get. My Jeep color is called Desert Dune I think with the darker tan colored tops. I have seen tops that cover just the driver/passenger and some that go over the back seat also. I do have the Dana rearend(I think), what gear choices came in that in 2000? Can't wait to start modifying, especially in the power department. My last 3 trucks have been Silverado's with V8's(modified). VERY fast trucks. Loving the Jeep world so far.

Welcome first of all to Jeepdom. :D
Concerning the bikini tops. Aside from getting a more expensive Mopar top, your only other choice will be Bestop. Stay away from any product made by SteelHorse. Way inferior in quality and workmanship. You will be disappointed. Exception would be their tow hooks and the grab handles.
I've got a Bestop bikini that covers just the front. The Bestop Safari covers just about the entire interior.
Your rearend is either a Dana 35 or 44. The 35 being more oval, the 44 being more angular. Gear choices would be either 3.07 or 3.73.
One thing to keep in mind about the 4.0L. It wasn't designed for power in the sense of pony's when installed in a TJ. It is a torquer, designed for slow speed offroad. It'll idle up just about anything when in 4LO. In the XJ, ZJ, or WJ, then it (4.0L) would be ok. But not so much in the Wrangler. Not that you can't. It's just not really the quest for most of us to pump the powerplant to excessive levels. Stock does most of us just fine. 'Course it is a personal choice. :)
Have fun with your Jeep.
Oh, and howdy from Okla. City.

Welcome to the Jeep world :)
As for power, A better ehaust and a cone air filter are the most bang for the buck.
Power chips and such are not that great if you use the Jeep off-road, since they usually sacrifice torque to get horsepower. There is a full rebuild kit from MOPAR that includes a new cam and so on but, again, it is designed for street performance.
