What kind of front brake pads do you guys use? I currently have perfromance friction metallic pads and don't liek them at all. They've always squeled and don't stop any better than my '96 stock pads, which I hear were metallic. And that stop squeel doesn't work either.

I just bought some pads from Murrays Auto Parts (I am not sure the name). They are supposed to be the direct replacements for the ones currently on my Jeep because they are covered under a lifetime warranty from when I bought them originally. The ones i have on there now have performed excellent and have lasted for about 3 years (50,000 miles or so).

I will let you know how the new ones perform.

I tried Brute Stop pads from Raybestos; absolutely terrible. Squealed constantly. Replaced them with dealer pads and they work perfectly. Just picked up OEM rears today.

I use Bendix Premium on just about everything. They also have a special "SUV" version for the GC, but I have never felt the need to try it. On both 95 GCs I have owned I have used Bendix Premium with every satisfaction. No squeaks, no other noises. When I installed them for the first time on each GC, I also installed new Bendix rotors.

I have the PF pads also. I like the fact that they do not fade and the brake dust is less. But, the brake dust that does come off of them is like tar, they are a little scary when cold and I have problems w/ rattling calipers because the PF pads are slightly smaller in height than the factory pads, so they move up and down a lot.

Let me know which pads you try.
