Finally found some metal appropriate for the CB antenna mount..
16ga metal was thin enough for me to form it correctly with only a hammer, my hands, and a concrete block..
yet thick enough not to rattle or wobble at freeway speeds..
It holds it very securely..
but will bend if the need arises..
Gets great reception..
Just happened to have a can of red spray paint that closely matches..

That is a " Rocky Road Outfitters " decal on the fuel tank skid..
