I'm 6'4" and looking to get just a little more leg room in my '77 Cj-5 . I was wondering if it is possible to cut the front of the rear wheel wells so I can slide the seat back another 2-3"? I have a glass tub with a 3" lift running 31's so rubbing shouldn't be a problem. Just looking to see if it can be SAFELY done. BTW my roll bar is tied into the frame. Thanks in advance for you help.

Yes, it's a common mod on CJ5s. Go over to JU, do a search on the CJ forum for words like notch, wheelhouse, leg room, etc. We had a good discussion on this a couple months back, with good pics in steel and glass tubs.

Thanks for the info. This board rocks! I have posted the same question on some other boards but no one ever replied. Thanks again.

Mud Duck, I had some time to do the search.
First go to the Early CJ5 board, read this thread and the responses:

http://www.forumco.com/sparky/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=600&FORUM_ID=1&CAT_ID=1&Topic_T itle=Seats%3A+Notching+Wheelhouse%2E%2E%2E&Forum_T itle=Early+CJ%2D5+and+Dauntless+V6+Forum

Then, follow the link in the first post (mine) to the JU forum, and read the thread there. About 3 posts down in that thread, you'll see an animated .gif on how to do this mod.

HTH!!
