4WD indiactot light ?

A buddy of mine has a 88 YJ. His indicator light for 4WD does not come on when he's in 4WD.
I looked at the repair manual, and can't find anything that deals with this problem.
Anybody have any ideas?
BTW..4WD works fine, it's just the light doesn't come on..

Mine does the same thing. I had it in the shop last year and since they were already doing to much work, I had them fix it (some sensor or something) and 6 months later it was out again. I just stopped dealing with it. Not sure if that's good or bad yet.

There's a vacuume actuated switch on the side of the t-case that turns the light on. Sometimes it sticks. Any loss of vacuume anywhere else in the system will also make it malfunction.

Or maybe the bulb burned out. :)
