I've been asking about pretty much any kind of Jeep but whenever one comes up that I'm interested, I have time to ask about it here then it's gone before I can look at it :silly: At least I'm getting my fill of Jeep knowledge for anything else that might come my way.
Anyway, what are your opinions on the auto tranny? I would like to have a 5-speed but if I can get this Jeep for a good deal, I would be able to live with the auto. Is there any kind of notorious problems these have? It's behind a 4.0 BTW.
Here is the one I'm thinking of looking at (but is most likely gone now since I asked this question):

The Jeep auto tranny is near bullet -proof with the stock engine.
Badly overheating it and drowning it in river crossings are really the only ways to hurt it.

Well i think the auto tranny's are great. I drive my truck pretty hard and as long as you keep up with flushing the fluid you should not have many problems.
Hey that's the truck i told you about. how much does he want for it and is it sold yet cause it is not in it's usual spot yet.

I'm not gonna say a price cause I would like first crack at it but I'm not sure if it's for sale anymore. I haven't called about it yet. I wanted to find out about the tranny first. I'm good at keeping up on maintenance (not to say someone else hasn't) so that should be ok and I don't plan any deep-water crossings either.
BTW, how did it look? Is it pretty solid? Its about an 8 hour jaunt from here to Calgary so I wouldn't mind finding out if its worth the time or not.

Well I would have to say the guy is pretty young. It looks like it had been repainted cause the logos are not in there usual spot. The only thing i would be concerned about is the interior. It's light brown. The two head light set up does not look stock it looks like he made the modification. The tires are good and the bumpers look quite mean. I would contact the guy I think I gave you his number. You could get a cheap flight out on westjet would probably be cheaper than driving and hey it might only be a one way flight. i would get the guy to email you some more detailed pics, but if the price was right i would buy it.

Cool. I think the dual headlight is factory with the Wagoneer (thats what its advertised as) and it's an auto. The interior is probably brown leather. If it's not in its usual spot like you said, maybe he sold it but I still gotta see if I can get some $$$ before I call too. It's a pretty nice looking rig as long as it hasn't been off-roaded too hard.
