I need to replace my speakers and have no clue how to remove the door panel.

hey man, i know exactly what you mean about the doors. well i have done the front ones and it is quite simple...do you have manual windows or do you have power windows? that is an important detail and i should be able to help you with both. if you have power windows then unscrew all of the screws that are in the door...should be one upper corner, one in the door handle assembly, and three for the armrest. once you have done this (check for anymore screws just in case i missed one) get a flat screw driver and wedge it between the door and the panel on the door and just slowly pop out the white pops that hold the door on. this sounds confusing but once you do it, you will easily understand. if you have anymore ?'s i am more than willing to help you out...just get back to me

Yea the panel just pops off.
Be careful though! I was rushing once and cracked it on the bottom when I was getting impatient.

Hi everyone:
This may sound weird but it has worked for me on my jeep and other vehicles. Somewhere along the line in my travels I picked up a fork that is used to serve food at buffett, etc. It is oversized and the space between the tines of the fork and their length are perfect for doing the job w/o wrecking anything.

they make a tool for this, it is sold at autozone for like $6, usually is kept by the little packages of nuts and bolts and clips.

But that's my point why buy it when what you got does the job.

But that's my point why buy it when what you got does the job. well ok, I usually use my fingers, cause I don't want to walk out to the shed where the window tools are stored :D

Hey Tiffster, did you have any problems pulling off those panels? I just got my pioneers the other day, so I'll be doing the same thing this weekend!

I am going to give it a try tomorrow....have been sick most of the week (food poisoning) and haven't felt to up to messing with the Jeep or anything else.

Well I just finished my front speakers and SouthGaPimp's directions are right on target. I didn't feel like messing with the door handle/lock cables, so I just loosened up the panel and worked around it. Other than the fact that my Pioneers didn't quite line up with the exisiting mounting screws, It was a snap. Of course, it would have been alot easier if I could have brought the Jeep into the garage. With 30-50mph gusts, trying to keep the door open was quite a feat!
