I want to order my new rims tomorrow. I am going to be getting 15x8 AR-767's for my 31x10.5 BFG A/T's.
I want to see what the 4" BS vs. the 4.75" BS looks like for these wheels.
Preferably with 31's.
P.S. Tech 1 Rock Crawlers are not available in Canada as far as I know.

Toogy,

I don't have the AR 767, but thought seriously about getting a set before I settled on AR Bajas w/5.25 BS (long story, but couldn't get the Ultra 4.5" BS 64/65).

IMHO, if you're planning on running 31x10.50s, or 32x11.50s, and don't necessarily want to add fender flares (depending on your local laws), the 4.75" BS would be a better solution since they're close to 0" offset.

A couple of "tire/wheel guys" I spoke with when I was looking at wheels warned against running excessive negative offset (low BS) wheels on the TJ/YJ front end due to handling/breakage problems since it's designed for ~1" positive offset, BUT I don't know if I buy that -- lots of guys run 33s on 3.75" - 4" BS wheels.

4 Wheel parts doesn't ship to Canada? They advertise in every four wheel mag I read. The Tech 1 is a much better rim.

I'm running 33's, so I won't bother with a picture, but I will say this about the 4" backspacing: while I really like the way it looks, the one PITA about it is that driving through the smallest puddle, or a vaguely wet street, results in a Jeep covered with spots!!! ;)

Of course, that will be a good thing off-road... when I want to get dirty. :D

I am sure that they do ship to Canada, but the cost of shipping plus the low Canadian dollar translates to over $100/wheel (Canadian) or pretty darn close. The AR-767's are as low as $58 (CAN)/wheel.

These are Basset Racing 7" with 3.625" of BS with 31x10.5. I like these wheels cause the valve is inside the hub. This is the only DOT wheel they make. The others are racing wheels. They were $50 a piece to my door. Don't know if you'll be able to find a dealer in CA. www.bassettwheel.com

My experience may not apply to your question.
I used my stock (30" tire package) 15X8 Gamblers with 5.5" backspacing and 32X11.50's.
Everyone asks me why my 99 TJ looks so clean after going thru mud slinging.
The difference, my tire tread stays under my Sahara flares.
Granted it's a Jeep thing, but my windows and soft top don't get covered with the
same mud as the others.
Just do some simple math..offset means pushing them out further. And also means more wear on the wheel bearings, steering, and the weight of any "aftermarket" steel wheels.
If you want the "look" go for the big numbers. Or inversely, if you want to look "big" get those big tires and space them out as far as you can get them...
It's your choice.

Same here. I'm running a set of 15x7 Canyons that were standard issue on '96-'98 Grand Cherokees. They come with 5" of backspacing. Because they stay beneath the fender wells, I stay much cleaner.

On my '97 TJ I had AR "Gamblers" with 3.75" of backspacing and 31" TSL's. Everytime I went offroad, I'd end up almost needing to use a shovel to clean out the inside if the top was down.
